SwissRadar is operated by Aerostudio GmbH, Bendicht-Rechberger-Str. 1, 2502 Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The service is hereinafter referred to as "SwissRadar".
1. Data Controller

SwissRadar is a public city app that displays events, locations, and urban infrastructure on an interactive map for Swiss cities.
2. Scope and Applicable Law
This privacy policy applies to all users of SwissRadar. The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) is authoritative. For persons residing in the European Economic Area (EEA), the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in addition, insofar as its material scope is applicable.
3. User Categories
SwissRadar distinguishes two user categories:
End users (public): Persons who use SwissRadar anonymously and without registration. No personal data is collected from these persons, with the exception of the data described in Section 4.1 (contact forms) and Section 4.3 (technical access data).
Business users (city and municipal administrators): Persons who register with an account and manage SwissRadar under a contract with Aerostudio GmbH. The creation of a business account requires legal age of majority.
4. Data Collected and Processing Purposes
4.1 Contact Forms (Listing Requests and Service Requests)
When you submit a listing or service request via SwissRadar, we collect the following data:
Email address
Name
Content of the request
Purpose: Processing and responding to the request. Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Art. 31 para. 1 nFADP; Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR), insofar as the request aims at concluding a contract. Access: This data is accessible to Aerostudio GmbH and the responsible municipal administration. Retention: 12 months after completion of processing, followed by deletion.
4.2 Registration of Business Users
For the creation of an administrative account, we collect:
Email address
Password (stored in encrypted form)
Name
Company or associated city/municipality
Purpose: Provision and management of the account as well as contract performance. Legal basis: Contract performance (Art. 31 para. 2 lit. a nFADP; Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR). Retention: For the duration of the contractual relationship and beyond in accordance with statutory retention obligations (in particular commercial and tax retention periods of up to 10 years).
4.3 Technical Access Data
When accessing SwissRadar, hosting and analytics services automatically record technical data, including:
IP address
Browser type and version
Operating system
Page URLs visited
Purpose: Operation, security, and analysis of service usage. Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Art. 31 para. 1 nFADP; Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Retention: The retention period depends on the respective third-party services (see Sections 5 and 6).

4.4 GPS and Location Data
The location is used to center the map and for the Near Me feature. For Near Me, the coordinates are transmitted to our server (Supabase) to compute the results; when directions are requested, they are also transmitted to Mapbox (see section 5.4). Location data is not stored.
4.5 Local Browser Storage (localStorage)
SwissRadar uses local browser storage (localStorage) exclusively for UX settings:

SwissRadar uses exclusively technically necessary (functional) cookies, for example for the location permission, preferred city, language and the app mode. No tracking or advertising cookies are set; for the technically necessary cookies no consent banner is required.
5. Analytics and Error Tracking
5.1 Plausible Analytics
SwissRadar uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service without cookies. Only anonymized page view data is collected. No personal profiles are created. Provider: Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia/Lithuania (EU). Retention: Data is stored permanently in aggregated, anonymized form. Identification of individual persons is not possible.
5.2 Vercel Analytics
Vercel Analytics collects anonymized page view data to improve the service. The service operates without cookies. IP addresses may be briefly processed during transmission but are not stored permanently. Provider: Vercel Inc., USA. Retention: According to Vercel's policies, analytics data is stored for up to 12 months.
5.3 Sentry (Error Tracking)
SwissRadar uses Sentry on both its website and in its mobile app to detect and resolve technical errors. On the website: browser type, operating system, URLs visited, and IP addresses. In the mobile app: device model, operating system version, app version, as well as crash and error details, including stack traces and the last technical actions taken before the error occurred. IP anonymization is enabled in Sentry, so full IP addresses are not stored. Provider: Functional Software Inc. (Sentry), USA. Retention: Error reports are stored for 90 days and then automatically deleted.
5.4 Mapbox
SwissRadar uses Mapbox for the display of interactive maps. During map requests, technical data such as IP addresses and usage data (tile requests) are transmitted to Mapbox. Mapbox processes this data for the provision and optimization of the mapping service. Provider: Mapbox Inc., USA. Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Art. 31 para. 1 nFADP; Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR), as the mapping service constitutes a core function of SwissRadar.
6. Third-Party Services and Data Transfers
SwissRadar works with the following third-party providers:
Supabase — Database and authentication (EU, Frankfurt)
Vercel — Hosting and deployment (USA)
Mapbox — Map rendering (USA)
Sentry — Error tracking (USA)
Plausible Analytics — Web analytics (EU, Lithuania)
Vercel Analytics — Page view analytics (USA)
OpenTransport API — Public transport timetable data (Switzerland)
Resend — Transactional email delivery (USA)
Data Transfers to Third Countries
For services based in the USA (Vercel, Mapbox, Sentry, Vercel Analytics, Resend), personal data is transferred to a country outside Switzerland and the EEA. Insofar as the respective US providers are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) or the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, these transfers are based on the adequacy decision of the Swiss Federal Council of September 2024 as well as the adequacy decision of the European Commission. In addition, Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) in accordance with the GDPR are in place with these providers as an additional safeguard. For Switzerland, these transfers are based on appropriate safeguards within the meaning of Art. 16 et seq. nFADP.
7. No Newsletter Communication
SwissRadar currently does not operate a newsletter service. No promotional email communication takes place.
8. Content on SwissRadar
The content displayed on SwissRadar (events, locations, infrastructure) is provided by business users and Swiss municipalities. Aerostudio GmbH reviews and moderates the published content but does not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Responsibility for the accuracy of the content lies with the respective listing administrators.
9. Data Security
SwissRadar takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS.
10. Your Rights
As a data subject, you have the following rights:
Right of access: You may request information about the data stored concerning you.
Right to rectification: You may request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure: You may request the deletion of your data, provided no statutory retention obligations apply.
Right to restriction of processing: You may, under certain conditions, request the restriction of processing of your data.
Right to data portability: You may request that your data be provided to you in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (insofar as this is technically feasible and legally required).
Right to object: You may object at any time to the processing of your data based on legitimate interests.

11. Right to Lodge a Complaint

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
SwissRadar reserves the right to amend this privacy policy as needed, for example due to changes in legal requirements or new features of the service. The current version is available on this page. The date of the last update is noted at the top.
